DLF to invest Rs
100,000 crore in Bengal real estate projects |

Kolkata, India,
September 13, 2007 - Indian Real Estate major DLF Ltd plans to invest
over Rs 100,000 crore in West Bengal over the next seven years. This
was stated by Mr. AS Minocha of DLF Commercial Developers Ltd in a
press interview.
The investment would go towards the 4,840 acres integrated Dankuni
township pioneering the walk-to-work concept. DLF envisages an
investment of Rs 50,000 crore in the Dankuni project alone.
DLF also is setting up IT parks, a mall and three hotels in Bengal.
Located at Rajarhat in New Town, Kolkata; DLF IT Park is designed by
the renowned architect Hafeez Contractor. With a super area of 1.3
million sq.ft, this complex of three independent towers and a retail
complex is built around a large landscaped garden. DLF IT Park@
Kolkata is now operational with clients like IBM and Genpactalready
operating out of these premises.
A second IT Park, designed by renowned architect Hafeez Contractor,
with 2 million sq ft of leasable space is to come up on 25 acres in
Action Area II of Rajarhat.
While DLF plans to bring in three hotels into the state, the showpiece
will be the 600-room Hilton on EM Bypass road.
DLF Hotel Hilton Ltd, a 74:26 joint venture between DLF group and
Hilton International Co, plans to build three properties, two hotels -
one in luxury category and the other a business hotel - and a service
apartment unit in Kolkata. All three will carry respective Hilton
brand names, meant for each of the hospitality segment. The projects
would be operational within the next three years. |
